Fellowship, Enjoyment and History
The Podenhaus, in its new shining splendour, offers guests a very special sense of well-being and unforgettable moments in the heart of the beautiful Ausseerland. After the renovation, the spacious and generous building now houses eleven comfortable apartments and guest rooms, which makes the stay an exciting time travel into the history of this very special place.

The spacious rooms of the “Bel Etage”, which are available to all guests, become a place of encounter and casual togetherness.
The "Kaminzimmer" in the Bel Etage with its library, old harmonium and various inviting seating groups is the heart of The Podenhaus and is the "living room for all". Here and in the adjacent dining room with its striking long table, casual gatherings of temporary residents are facilitated and encouraged. In the communal kitchen with access to the picturesque garden, cooking, baking and then enjoying meals together is possible on request.
The House
With its centuries-old history, picturesque baroque facade and inviting flair, The Podenhaus in the Kirchengasse is a historical pearl in the townscape of Bad Aussee. With its central location in the town, it is an ideal starting point for excursions to the Ausseerland and the Salzkammergut.
The Bel Etage
The meeting place in the Podenhaus!
Open to all who like to socialize and seek fellowship with like-minded people. The house bar in the dining room with a nice selection of wines, schnapps, gin, whiskies and other spirits and the lavishly stocked refrigerator in the “Kuchl” (Austrian for “cosy kitchen”) is available to guests for self-service. The guests are charged according to the principle of trust. Just like among good friends!
The Apartments
Being guests in a historic setting with contemporary comfort: the preservation of the listed room structure and antique furnishings, combined with modern living elements and the spacious, vintage-style, renovated bathrooms guarantee a very special homey feeling.
Winter magic
The Winter magic in Ausseerland cloaks the region in an enchantment that warms hearts and transforms the landscape into a wintry fairytale land. When the first snow falls softly on the roofs and the air carries the fresh clarity of the mountains, Ausseerland shines in its full splendour.
The peaks are covered with a white layer and the trees bear frosty crystals like sparkling jewels. The clear lakes are shrouded in ice and snow, providing the perfect stage for ice skaters and winter hikers. The forests are bathed in a silence broken only by the crunch of snow underfoot. In the cosy inns and cafés, the aroma of mulled wine and freshly baked biscuits wafts through the air.
